Please be advised that EFT file for Tuesday 15 May did not process correctly. As a result, monies were not debited from client bank accounts last night, however the ICS is reflecting that the money was transferred. As a result, monies paid to Customs from midday Monday until midday Tuesday will be debited tonight along with today's transactions. To reconcile, users will need to use Tuesday's and today's EFT reports.

Customs and Border Protection apologise for any inconvenience caused.

In April 2006 the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service implemented the Sea Cargo Manifest List Screen in the ICS. This screen allows users to self diagnose the linking of all documents connected with the clearance of their cargo. As part of strengthening controls in the import environment, Customs and Border Protection will restrict access to the Status screens to only those who have a direct and legitimate interest in the import cargo in question.

Customs and Border Protection proposes to amend the production assist cost provisions in section 154(1) of the Customs Act 1901 to ensure that the legislation is consistent with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Valuation Agreement.
