DAYLIGHT SAVINGS OUTAGE SUNDAY 5 OCTOBER 2014

The Daylight Savings period for NSW, VIC, SA, Tasmania and the ACT will start at 2:00am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Sunday 5 October 2014. At this stage there will be a 4 hour outage to Customs Systems during the changeover. The outage will be from Sunday 5 October 01:00 AEST until 05:00 Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). EDI messaging and Customs Interactive (CI) will be unavailable during the system outage.
Industry clients should make arrangements to have cargo cleared outside of these hours.

The Customs Information and Support Centre will implement contingency arrangements during this period. AWOTE ADJUSTMENTS ON TOBACCO AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS - 1 SEPTEMBER 2014

Rates of duty for tobacco and tobacco products will increase from 1 September 2014, in line with movements in the average weekly ordinary time earnings (AWOTE) and an additional factor of 12.5%. Further information will be available from Australian Customs and Border Protection Notice 2014/40. These changes will be reflected in the tariff working pages.
